This part of the specification covers the requirements for the mechanical performance of single-action overhead door closers of six sizes (with or without backcheck action and with or without delayed action), including their operating arms and arm linkages but excluding the pivotal or hinging arrangement of the door. It covers door closers that are intended for face fixing either on the door or on the transom and that automatically close hinged and pivoted doors in a controlled manner.
2 This part of the specification does not cover requirements specific to door closers for fire doors.
