The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly considering a)that the development of techniques for high-definition television (HDTV) broadcasting is rapidly progressing;b)that the ITU Radiocommunication Study Groups have already carried out a number of studies concerning the broadcasting of HDTV signals;c)that there are allocations to the broadcasting-satellite service (BSS) in the 17.3-17.8 GHz band in Region 2, and in the 21.4-22 GHz band in Regions 1 and 3, capable of accommodating wide RF-band HDTV.
